Loyola High School is accepting applications from individuals who seek a position as a Fine Arts Design & Painting instructor. Candidates must demonstrate evidence of effective communication, collaboration, and successful teaching pedagogy, along with student work samples if available.
Subjects taught: Teach a combination of 4 sections of 2D and 3D Design and 1 section of Painting. Actual section distributions may change depending on student interest.
Primary duties: The teacher will teach four periods of 2D and 3D Design, which includes knowledge in the foundational elements and principles of 2D and 3D Design, Drawing, and Painting within a college-preparatory environment. The teacher will also teach one period of foundational Painting. This will involve lesson planning and presentation, student assessment, and individualized student support as needed. The teacher will develop, plan, and present lessons to students in a classroom, utilizing course materials and other appropriate learning materials. The teacher will supervise, monitor, and evaluate students with scaffolded lesson plans, curriculum, and grading rubric assessment. In addition, the teacher will establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional and safe learning atmosphere in the classroom, maintain appropriate and timely records of student progress, communicate with parents, and maintain professional boundaries with students in order to foster effective and successful learning outcomes. Faculty members are also part of a professional learning community (PLC) for one period.

Requirements
Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in the Fine/Visual Arts and preferably a California Single Subject Teaching Credential in the Arts. Experience teaching in a high school setting is highly desired.
Desirable qualifications: California SED Teaching Credential in the Arts, Masters in Education, MFA or related coursework. Knowledge and skill in foundational 2D Design, Drawing, and Painting. Knowledge and skill in Adobe Creative Suite Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
