Faith Formation Director

The Director of Faith Formation, in collaboration with the Pastor, is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and programming for St. Martin of Tours Faith Formation program following all Archdiocesan policies and in keeping with St. Martin of Tours’ vision for faith formation. This includes sacramental preparation and religious formation programs for the parish community including adults, teens and children. The Faith Formation Director is responsible for the preparation of curricula, schedules and communications, catechist/volunteer recruitment, and program oversight and evaluation.

Job duties include but are not limited to:
Faith Formation
• Organizing and teaching First Communion and Confirmation classes
• Providing Adult Faith Formation opportunities
• Offering baptism preparation classes for parents and godparents.
• Managing Sacramental Records for Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation and Marriage.
• Teaching the Children’s Liturgy of the Word class during the 9:30AM Family Mass.
• Supporting Catechesis at the School.
• Organizing community faith events such as the Lantern Walk on St. Martin of Tours Feast Day and the Christmas Posada
• Create content advertising parish faith formation events
• Attend monthly regional and archdiocesan meetings for Youth Ministry and DREs.

Liturgy Support
• Member of the Liturgy Committee.
• Support with Spiritual Formation of EM, Lectors and EM to the Sick.
• Oversee Altar Server formation program.
• Organize the Christmas Pageant at the Christmas Vigil Family Mass

Safe-Environment
• Member of the Safe-Environment Committee.
• Facilitate Safe-Environment trainings for the children and youth in Faith Formation Programs and record trainings online.
• Organize and advertise the Safe-Environment training for Adults

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: The Director of Faith Formation should possess:
1. MA in Theology/Religious Education or a related theological field
2. Diocesan Certification as a Director of Faith Formation or working toward diocesan certification
