Description

Louisville High School is currently seeking a full-time Events Manager who has expertise executing all aspects of fundraising event production, timetables, budgets, promotion, volunteer coordination and communication. The ideal candidate has experience working with nonprofit organizations and understands this unique lens to organizing and running fundraising events. We are seeking a self-starting, detail-oriented, well-organized candidate with enthusiasm, creativity, a positive perspective, sense of humor and can-do attitude.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborates with parent organizations to conceptualize, develop and execute all fundraising events (this school year’s events include a boutique, chili cook-off, gala with auctions, fashion show and luncheon, trivia night)
  • Manages all aspects of event production including but not limited to event logistics, guest experience, coordination of vendors, auction production (live, silent, online, paddle raise), sponsorship solicitation, volunteer coordination and post-event analysis
  • Writes, produces and distributes all event-related communications including sponsorship materials, donation letters, invitations, flyers, emails, program book and acknowledgements
  • Works with graphic artist to create assets as needed (i.e., logos, invitations, banners, etc.)
  • Manages event budgets and provides analysis to assist in cost-savings to maximize net return
  • Uses event management software to promote event, sell tickets, manage the auction and process all transactions
  • Coordinates and manages parent and student volunteer efforts for all events
  • Ensures photographic and video graphic coverage of events for future promotional needs
  • Organizes timely pick-up of auction items and thank you letters for all donors
  • Attends all Parents Guild and Dads Club meetings and functions, providing assistance as necessary

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business or related field
  • Minimum of three years’ work experience in fundraising event planning, development or communications preferably in a leadership role, school and/or nonprofit environment
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills with the ability to engage and motivate volunteers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve
  • Strong initiative with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic, creative and positive can-do attitude
  • Fully computer and technology literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office and event software
  • Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Raiser’s Edge preferred
