Description

St Mark School (Venice) is seeking an Elementary STEM teacher for Transitional Kindergarten through 5th Grade for the 2024-2025 academic school year. The successful candidate will plan and prepare engaging lessons, help in creating curriculum guides for these grades, differentiate student work, analyze and assess data in order to better support students and set standards. The candidate will maintain a safe environment, and establish rapport with students, parents and colleagues.

We are looking for candidates that possesses the following qualifications or qualities:

  • Plan for lessons that are engaging
  • Implement lesson plans and instruction that is hands-on and rigorous
  • Develop lessons that challenge our students
  • Be knowledgeable in education pedagogy and effective teaching strategies in science
  • Collaborate with colleagues and attend faculty meetings and professional development opportunities
  • Be a model of Christ’s love and demonstrate enthusiasm for learning
  • Nurture relationships with our school community
  • Has a passion for science and educating students

The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs. St Mark pays above the Archdiocese of Los Angeles salary schedule and offers a wide range of benefits including health, dental, vision, 403b participation, a traditional pension, and optional disability and life insurance.

Requirements

The requirements for this position are the following:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university/college
Experience: Teaching minimum of 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification: CA Teaching Certification (Preferred)

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
