Description

St. Jerome School is looking for a dynamic Middle School ELA/Literature teacher for the 2023-2024 school year.
The ideal candidate would have strong classroom management skills, experience with technology and blended learning, strong verbal and written skills, strong parent communication, the ability to multitask, an understanding of CCSS, the ability to work with team and take on MS specific leadership roles, strong interpersonal skills, resilience, compassion, and a love of God.

St. Jerome School is able to provide training and coaching to new Catholic School teachers. Additionally, Develop purposeful, rigorous, and engaging daily and long-term plans aligned to standards, and regularly revisit these materials. Submit necessary curriculum documents (e.g. scope and sequence, curriculum maps, lesson plans) as requested. Create, administer, and analyze meaningful and frequent assessments from which reteaches are planned. Maintain the necessary records of student progress toward academic goals; meet deadlines for submitting data to other departments. Consult with administration on curriculum support materials and planning to support intellectual preparation and classroom instruction. Fully participate in all school and grade-level meetings, designated school functions outside of school hours, and opportunities for individual and school-wide professional development. Meet expectations including punctuality and professionalism in conversation and in writing; consistently meet deadlines and communicate frequently and appropriately on progress on projects and goals. Reflect on professional practice through self-analysis and engagement in informal and formal feedback processes. Unwavering humility, patience, and kindness.

Requirements

Candidates should have:
– 1 – 3 years of experience (unless a new teacher)
– Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree with a major or minor in English (Masters Degree Preferred but not necessary) from an accredited college or university
– A California State Teaching Credential or working towards a Credential
– A teacher of Catholic Faith preferred but not required with a love of God
– Experience with technology and ability to learn about educational applications to improve student learning

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
