The Educational Technology Instructor is responsible for overseeing the development and integration of digital learning and corresponding technologies in support of teaching and learning at St. Paul the Apostle School. The ETI works closely with the IT Director, the Media Specialist, the Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction, and Faculty in planning, executing, and assessing the appropriate classroom use of emerging technologies. This position directly reports to the Principal.


Works with faculty to develop, guide, model, and support the integration of educational technology resources into the core curriculum to enhance the learning for all students.

Works with students to develop, guide, model, and support skills in the use of educational technology resources.

Additional Responsibilities

Collaborates with faculty to create and implement lesson plans using technology resources to further student learning. Establishes an environment encouraging creative and independent use of educational technology.
Provides computer literacy training to teachers.
Teaches students the skills needed in the use of instructional technology resources (i.e. Notability, Google slides, Powerpoint and keyboarding, etc.)
Delivers digital citizenship program to grades K-5.
Provides resource information relating to technology professional development, new techniques and practices that relate to the use of technology and that enable students to use technology as a learning tool.
Shares with faculty ongoing educational technology learning opportunities (off campus/webinars, etc.).
Manages the setup and/or training of faculty and students of GAFE (Google Apps for Education), PowerSchool Learning Management, Nearpod, BrainPop, Newsela and IXL software programs.
Designs classroom poster support materials for faculty related to curriculum.
Manages the large format printer used for media that facilitates learning in the classroom and supports programs for the school and parish.
Provides backup software helpdesk support for faculty and students.
Provides backup support to the Registrar for Gradelink.
Edits videos of special events (i.e., Christmas Concert, Spring Sings), weekly broadcast, etc. for publication on the SPA youtube channel and PowerSchool Learning.
Provides instruction for faculty and students using 3D printer software.
Performs minor troubleshooting of computer equipment, hardware or software problems.
Assists the PWC parent organization with media support for the annual fall festival.
Performs other duties as assigned.


Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s Degree is preferred
Technology experience in an educational environment
Ability to quickly learn new technologies, software, and systems through direct instruction and self-directed investigations
Ability to manage and prioritize several responsibilities efficiently
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Ability to work independently and as part of the faculty/staff
