Seeking a Dual Language teacher fluent in Spanish and English
St. Alphonsus School provides a Catholic dual language education to prepare students for a diverse 21st century. We are located in East Los Angeles and are seeking a grade teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. Importantly, St. Alphonsus School demands an educator who is skilled in differentiation, can clearly articulate and hold high expectations for all, and whose classroom management is impeccable.

Candidates should:
Demonstrate record of success working with early elementary grades
Plan thematic units collaboratively with colleagues
Passion for and experience with curriculum development and assessment
Well-organized, highly energetic, and deeply caring
Plan and implement a rigorous academic curriculum in line with the Common Core and Archdiocesan standards

All teachers are expected to:
Develop a course map for language arts, math, and religion
Submit weekly lesson plans
Assess, document, and analyze student progress
Actively participate and collaborate in weekly planning meetings
Collaborate with staff in growing school culture
Communicate with parents through formal conferences and informal communications
Share school yard supervision
Be eager to learn and desire coaching


The most competitive candidate will possess:
Fluent in both English and Spanish
Significant training in literacy development
Experience teaching in a dual immersion program
Bachelors or higher in education and more than 5 years of teaching experience
Poses a CA teaching credential, or be in the process of obtaining
Basic catechist certificate
