Description
Candidates must:
– Be bilingual with native-like proficiency and recognize the benefits of bilingualism
– Demonstrate record of success working with students at various grade levels
– Plan collaboratively with colleagues
– Have passion for and experience with curriculum development and assessment
– Be well-organized, highly energetic, and deeply caring
– Plan and implement a rigorous academic curriculum in line with the Common Core and Archdiocesan standards
All teachers are expected to:
– Develop units
– Submit weekly lesson plans
– Assess, document, and analyze student progress
– Actively participate and collaborate in weekly planning meetings
– Communicate with parents through formal conferences and informal communications
– Share school yard supervision and possible extra-curricular duties
– Be eager to learn and desire coaching
Requirements
The most competitive candidates will possess:
– Undergraduate degree in early childhood, elementary, or general education
– CA teaching credential, or is in the process of obtaining
– Experience teaching
– Understand second language acquisition
– Significant training in literacy development
– Understanding of dual immersion programming and research
– Basic catechist certificate
