Description

With a proud tradition of providing Catholic education since 1949, the Notre Dame Academy Schools of Los Angeles story is reflective of many throughout the country. Tracing modest beginnings in response to the initial vision of Reverend Mother Mary Cecilia and call to Sister Mary Bernard to “go out to California and build a house of love,” Notre Dame Academy Schools of Los Angeles first opened with the elementary school in 1949 and the high school the following year. Today the schools provide an excellent Catholic school experience on a beautiful campus that serves nearly 300 girls and boys in Notre Dame Academy Elementary School’s (NDAE) Transitional Kindergarten through eighth grade while providing a distinctive and sought-after Notre Dame Academy (NDA) college-prep opportunity for more than 260 young women in grades 9-12.

For additional information regarding these highly respected school communities please visit their website at academy.ndasla.org.

The current school year has been especially rewarding for the Notre Dame Academy community. First and foremost, NDA is thrilled to be together in person on campus and worked hard to reinvigorate all of its beloved girls school traditions, including the Freshman Rose Ceremony, Heritage Week, Junior Ring Ceremony, and graduation, in addition to countless athletics competitions, dances, assemblies, and other gatherings. Also, NDA initiated important curriculum enhancements, including the third year of the Disruptive Innovation class, part of NDA’s Duddy Innovation Center for Excellence, and piloted its new Emphasis Program, which features an academic component, symposia, and experiential learning opportunities for all students.

In recognition of these transformative efforts, NDA recently earned the Karen Ristau Creative Innovation Award for Innovating Catholic Education from the NCEA for exemplary educator training and for promoting growth mindset, habits of mind, and design thinking.

In addition to the Innovation and Emphasis Programs, NDA provides a wealth of rich visual and performing arts offerings, 10 sports teams, each with varsity and JV options, and robust co-curricular opportunities, such as Academic Decathlon and Robotics and Rocketry. For the fourth consecutive year, NDA’s Rocketry team earned an invitation to the national American Rocketry Competition in Virginia. Its eight-period schedule enables students to balance academic challenge with electives and extracurricular activities. One hundred percent of NDA graduates are accepted to four-year college programs and consider offers from the Jesuit schools, UCs, Ivies, and other highly selective institutions.

Notre Dame Academy’s faculty and staff enjoy a collegial atmosphere, fueled by expert educators who are dedicated to the school’s mission (Educating young women to make a difference) and to each of its 260+ students who come from 75 different zip codes and represent all of Los Angeles’ rich diversity. NDA enthusiastically looks forward to another exciting and enriching school year!

The Director of Enrollment Management has primary responsibility for achieving Notre Dame Academy’s admissions goals; works with prospective students, their parents, elementary schools, and various NDA staff, parent, and student volunteers in the areas of recruitment, admissions, and strategic marketing; and plans and coordinates events, activities and programs that promote the brand and value of NDA to prospective students and families interested in attending the school.

Additionally, the Director organizes, coordinates, and directs staff members and student volunteers; builds relationships and brand awareness with schools that have prospective students; builds relationships with prospective families and students for whom NDA is a good match; and recommends students to be accepted and assists with financial assistance decisions.

This is an outstanding opportunity to help shape the educational experience for students and families at a premier independent, Catholic all-girls college preparatory school.
