WORK SCHEDULE
This position is a full-time position working an eleven (11) month schedule typically mid-August through mid-July. This position is responsible to work admissions and other school-wide events and activities that occur after regular school hours, evenings, or on weekends.
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Principal the Admissions Director is responsible for the outreach, and collaboration with middle schools within the Los Angeles basin primarily focused on catholic education. The community outreach and involvement extend to inner city public schools and also to local private schools. The Admissions Director will demonstrate his/her personal commitment to Catholic practice and education, and strong leadership skills sufficient to guide the admissions department through admission cycles leading to the successful fulfillment of annual class enrollment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Director of Admissions would be expected to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities, but are not limited to, the following:
- Reporting to the Principal, the Director of Admissions is responsible for representing Loyola High School and its programs to the public, creating and following a sequential strategy for cultivating interest in the school, supervising the admissions process, and managing and executing events related to school admissions.
articulate the Jesuit and Catholic philosophy of education as represented at Loyola High School
represent Loyola High School at a variety of events
assist the Office for Advancement on events and activities where needed
organize and executes the events and activities of the admissions office
respond to all questions and inquiries from the public about Loyola High School - Create and follow a sequential strategy for cultivating interest in elementary school-aged students and their parents.
work with LHS Communications Department to produce promotional printed and video publicity
develop and expand the admissions website and online application process
develop a network of contacts with potential students and their parents
maintain a working relationship with other Catholic High School admissions directors
maintain a working relationship with school administrations at elementary and middle schools
expand efforts to cultivate a diverse student population - Supervise the Admissions Process from first inquiry to assimilation
supervise the Assistant Director of Admissions and Administrative Assistant
direct and supervise all aspects of the online admission process
organize and supervise the HSPT (testing) program for eight grade candidates
organize and direct the Admissions Committee and the selectivity process of applicants
communicate with families the decision of the Admissions Committee
manage wait list activities
manage the transfer student process
communicate with the President throughout the admissions process
assist Loyola High School administration with the assimilation of accepted students into the school
maintain appropriate admissions records, statistics, and evaluation to monitor the effectiveness of the admissions process
educate and enlist faculty and staff to assist where needed in the admissions process
maintain historical records of the admission process for archival and research purposes - Manage and execute the events related to admissions
annual Open House

testing days
off-site presentations
other events which promote Loyola High School - Ongoing active participation and association with
continuing education activities
maintain membership with local, state, national organizations and attend conferences and workshops related to admissions work
actively participated in the province (Jesuits West) and national (JSN) activities - Other dues as assigned by the Principal, and or President.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in administration or education preferred.
Minimum of 5 years experience in high-school or college-level academia, ideally in a leadership role in the administration.
Excellent classroom management, and strong leadership promoting positive school culture and climate.
Possess strong interpersonal skills: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, projecting a welcoming and professional tone, and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of constituents.
Ability to multitask jobs and projects of varying degrees of priority, with accuracy.
Works well independently and as a team member.
Possesses a strong work ethic and self-motivation.
Strong technology skills – competency with G-Suite, MS Office Suite, and familiarity with database management systems (preferred experience working with PowerSchool, SchoolAdmin and/or FinalSite products).
Regularly practices sound judgment.
Bilingual is highly desirable but not required.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
