St. Genevieve Parish Schools is seeking to immediately hire a responsible, detail-oriented Day Porter to maintain our facilities. The ideal candidate will be hard-working, detail-oriented and a team player.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Inspect the perimeter of the buildings to ensure that the exterior property is in a neat and orderly condition
• Inspect all lavatories for cleanliness; ensure hand soap, hand towels, toilet paper, toilet seat covers are replenished. Additionally, lavatories are to be mopped, sinks wiped down and stalls spot cleaned as per the daily schedule requires
• Clean and disinfect all water fountains
• Entrances and public areas are to be cleaned daily. These areas should always appear neat and orderly
• Outdoor trash receptacle emptied after student breaks and replacement of trash liners
• Clean interior and exteriors of lobby windows, windowsills, and doors
• Additional clean up required beyond normal duties may be required from time to time
• Ensure that all water coolers are stocked, and empty jugs are replaced
• Set up and break down of tables and chair for various events and student activities
• Moving classroom/office furniture, equipment and supplies on an as-needed basis
• Assembling classroom/office furniture and equipment on an as-needed basis
• Assisting maintenance team on an as needed basis
• Assisting landscaping team on an as needed basis
• Complete assigned “tasks” via the work order system
• Notifies Facilities Assistant regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems


• Candidate must be at least 18 years of age
• Previous custodial and grounds experience preferred
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Comfortable squatting, twisting, bending, and kneeling while using tools and performing maintenance tasks
• Possess working knowledge of the methods, techniques, and materials used in custodial work
• Ability to climb ladders and work from heights
• Familiar with operating, caring for, and storing custodial equipment and supplies
• Other requirements as designated by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and St. Genevieve Parish Schools, including Live Scan fingerprinting and VIRTUS safe environment training
