Position: Dance Choreographer (Part-Time/Hourly)

2021-2022 School Year

Qualifications and Description:

Ability to teach students with a range of dance experiences and skills (novice to advanced) in a collaborative environment

Collaborates with Music and Theater directors to produce multiple performances throughout the academic year

Develops dance curriculum that empowers every dancer, and advances students’ understanding of dance technique, and choreographic elements

Strive to build/maintain an environment of integrity, trust, and transparency

Collaborates with students, production design faculty and lighting designers

Recruits and develops relationships with potential dance students to promote program growth and sustainability

A strong character with a team-oriented spirit, and the ability to connect meaningfully with students throughout our diverse community

Create a culturally responsive environment of inclusion and social justice

Experience in multiple dance forms and styles

2 to 3 years’ experience teaching high school and middle school students. Bachelor’s degree or certificate in dance education and evidence of further professional work in dance (MFA preferred).
