Description
The coordinator of Elementary, Junior High, Children’s Initiation is an active Catholic with a gift and desire to enable children to grow in their relationship with Jesus and his Church. This position requires a person with a willingness to develop and support:
- Formation for elementary aged children (grades 3-5)
- Formation for junior high school (grades 6-8)
- Sacrament preparation for initiation of children ages 7-13
Requirements
Requirements:
- Active member of a Roman Catholic parish faith community, willing to grow deeper in faith while working together in the mission of the Church.
- Children’s formation experience in a Catholic parish, minimum 3-5 years
- Working knowledge of children’s initiation process
- Have or willing to work towards Basic Faith Formation, Specialization in Elementary and Children’s Initiation
- Meets the Los Angeles Archdiocesan Safeguard the Children protocols.
- Attends staff meetings, parish events, and ongoing education/workshops as indicated by the pastor
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
- Excellent communication skills to establish good relationships with supervisor, staff, adult volunteers, and parents.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Google platform.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
