Description

With the holidays right around the corner, the Cathedral Gift Store is looking to hire some seasonal, temporary help during what we hope will be a busy Christmas Season (now through January 1, 2022). If you have sales experience and would enjoy an opportunity to help others as they prepare for the birth of our Savior, we invite you to apply.

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Consistently delivers superior customer service
  • Accurately rings and tenders sale on point-of-sale system
  • Assists customers shopping in store and handles customer phone inquiries including online sale inquires
  • Follows directions and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines as assigned
  • Assists with design and implementation of merchandising displays; maintaining merchandise display in a neat, organized and appealing manner
  • Reports low stock levels, inventory discrepancies, and customer product requests to management as needed.
  • Promotes add-on sales as appropriate
  • Supports website and website sales and social media sales outreach
  • Accommodates requests for gift wrapping
  • Assists in filing, copying and other clerical duties as needed
  • Helps produce window displays, signs, interior displays, floor plans and special promotion displays
  • Assists with social media posting, schedule and content creation

 

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma/G.E.D.( Some college preferred)
  • Experience in Retail, customer service
  • Accurate cash handling and P.O.S. operating experience
  • Knowledge of Catholic faith and practices

General Requirements & Skills

  • Excellent Communication Skills.
  • Basic knowledge of current word processing, spreadsheet and database software
  • Strong proficiency with Facebook, Instagram and other social platforms
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Availability to work flexible schedules including day/evening shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Operate a point-of-sale system and a computer, using basic knowledge of current word processing, spreadsheet and database software
  • Perform tasks requiring bending and lifting up to 50 pounds; ability to access ladders; ability to work on feet for extended periods of time

Physical Demands

  • Able to lift and carry 50 pounds while using the appropriate lifting techniques and following all safety rules
  • Prolonged walking, standing, and climbing ladders
