The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels Gift Store is looking for a part-time Sales Associate. If you have sales experience and would enjoy an opportunity to help others in their spiritual journeys and support the mission of the Cathedral, we invite you to apply.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivers superior customer service combining sales, product knowledge, and other skills to meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Accurately rings and tenders sale on point-of-sale system.
  • Assists customers shopping in store and handles customer phone inquiries.
  • Assists with implementation and maintaining of merchandising displays; creates store signage as needed for display purposes.
  • Conducts assigned cycle counts for accurate inventory
  • Helps keep back storage areas organized and clean
  • Participates in Cathedral related special events and off-site sales

 

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma/G.E.D. (Some college preferred)
  • 2-3 years’ experience in Retail, customer service
  • Accurate cash handling and P.O.S. operating experience
  • Knowledge of Catholic faith and practices
  • Shopify experience preferred

General Skills

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of current word processing, spreadsheet and database software
  • Strong proficiency with Facebook, Instagram and other social platforms
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and tasks and dictated by store environment
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift and carry 50 pounds while using the appropriate lifting techniques and following all safety rules
  • Prolonged walking, standing, and climbing ladders

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
