Description

St. Joseph High School seeks a full-time Attendance Secretary for the 2025-2026 school year. This position is essential in maintaining accurate student attendance records, supporting school administration, and fostering a welcoming and organized front office environment. St. Joe’s is a college preparatory high school on the beautiful and affordable Central Coast of California, an hour north of Santa Barbara.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and process daily student attendance records in PowerSchool
  • Verify and record student absences, tardies, and early dismissals
  • Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student attendance matters
  • Prepare attendance reports for administration and faculty as needed
  • Assist with front office duties, including answering phones and greeting visitors
  • Work closely with faculty, staff, and administration to ensure accurate record-keeping
  • Maintain confidentiality of student and school records
  • Assist with other clerical and administrative tasks as needed

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework preferred)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced office environment

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
