Notre Dame Academy High School in West Los Angeles is seeking a highly qualified full-time social science teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success teaching AP or college preparatory social science classes in areas such as United States Government, Economics, United States History, Criminal & Civil Law, and/or Modern World History. We seek an educator who understands how history informs contemporary issues and how studying the social sciences equips students to successfully navigate the world.
NDA seeks a creative teacher with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in history, political science, or a related field, successful high school social science teaching experience, and an interest in developing compelling curriculum content for high school students. He or she should be able to work collaboratively and independently within the Humanities department. This individual must be innovative, dynamic, energetic, organized, flexible, and hard working, modeling for students a growth mindset. We seek faculty members who are intellectually curious, willing to grow professionally, student focused, dedicated to lifelong learning, and able to effectively collaborate with faculty, students, and parents to enhance our learning community.

Requirements
- Successful record of high school social science teaching experience
- AP teaching experience in social science preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in a social science field, Master’s desired
- Experience leading co-curricular academic teams like Mock Trial a plus
- Comfortable teaching in a Catholic education setting
- Commitment to an inclusive and equitable working and learning environment
- California teaching credential preferred
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
