Description
Holy Angels School in Arcadia is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic 7th grade homeroom teacher. A member of the departmentalized junior high team, the 7th grade teacher is responsible for teaching 7th and 8th grade ELA, in addition to 7th grade religion and social studies.
Major Job Responsibilities:
- Establish an environment where students are excited about learning
- Develop lesson plans and deliver fun and educational lessons to students
- Collaborate with other junior high teachers
- Communicate with parents/guardians
- Create assessments and give grades that indicate students’ understanding of the material
- Organize classroom systems/procedures and manage student behavior to ensure all students are fully engaged in learning
- Participate in faculty and staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school-wide events to promote a collaborative and supportive learning community.
A successful candidate should also
- Be proficient with technology needed to enhance the learning experience, communicate with students and parent, and stay current with grading
- Have regular attendance, dependability, and punctuality
Requirements
- Bachelors’ degree or higher
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, and administrators.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree or credential
- Experience working with elementary aged students

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
