Description
St. Teresa of Avila School, located in the Silverlake neighborhood of Los Angeles , is a part of the new Microschools Network of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. This exciting partnership provides support for schools that are small by design, have multi-age pedagogy, blended learning and a whole child approach that includes art, PE, and music. We are seeking a dynamic long-term 2nd/3rd Grade sub who will be responsible to cover the 2nd/3rd Grade class until the end of the current school year. The term of employment is approximate and will most likely be April- June 21, 2023.

Responsibilities
- Plan for, teach, monitor, assess, and make accommodations for the spiritual, moral, physical, emotional, and academic development of the children of St. Teresa of Avila School
- Maintain a professional, cooperative and respectful relationship with all members of the St. Teresa of Avila community
- Establish and maintain effective classroom management
- Be present in school and available for all assigned duties from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday of the school year
- Supervise during specified student breaks (recess or lunch) Mass and assemblies
- Submit Lesson plans electronically via PlanBook by 8 am the first day of every week
- Maintain accurate attendance records
- Attend all faculty meetings, in-service days, retreat days, Parent-Teacher Conferences and other after school events when requested by the Principal
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education
A Bachelor’s degree or higher
Valid teaching Credential Preferred
Qualifications & Experience
Previous teaching in a Catholic school is highly preferred

Possess a passion for Learning and Teaching
Excellent interpersonal, writing and communication skills

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
