DESCRIPTION:Every year the Pontifical Mission Society’s\, Missionary Childhood Association\, hosts a mass for its members at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels during the month of October. This year\, the MCA Mass will take place on Wednesday\, October 14\, 2026. \nDuring the mass we recognize and thank the children for their missionary efforts. Encouraging them to always reflect the light of Christ in the world by answering their call to mission starting at home. As October is the month of the Missions\, this mass always takes place the week before World Mission Sunday.  \nPlease note: Students and Catholic schools have priority for this Mass. Among other objectives the course will:  explain reasons for belief in the existence of God. Give examples of how God communicates with us from Scriptures\, tradition\, and lived experience. Explain how God’s plan of salvation came to fullness through Jesus Christ. Help to identify faith as our response to God’s revelation. And give an example of how we work with God’s grace to respond in faith to life situations. \nDate: Saturday\, October 17\, 2026 || Time: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm (Breaks and Lunch time included) || Format: Zoom Live Class || Cost: $50 \nREGISTER HERE! \n\nProfessor: Dr. Matthew Ramage\, PhD.  \nDr. Matthew Ramage is Professor of Theology at Benedictine College where he is co-director of its Center for Integral Ecology. He is also Adjunct Professor and Concentration Chair of Sacred Scripture for the Holy Apostles College and Seminary graduate program. In addition to his other scholarly and outreach endeavors\, he is author\, contributing author\, or translator of over fifteen books\, including Dark Passages of the Bible: Engaging Scripture with Benedict XVI and Thomas Aquinas (CUA Press\, 2013)\, Jesus\, Interpreted: Benedict XVI\, Bart Ehrman\, and the Historical Truth of the Gospels (CUA Press\, 2017)\, The Experiment of Faith: Pope Benedict XVI on Living the Theological Virtues in a Secular Age (CUA Press\, 2020)\, and Christ’s Church and World Religions (Sophia Institute Press\, 2020).  His latest book\, From the Dust of the Earth: Benedict XVI\, the Bible\, and the Theory of Evolution\, was published by CUA Press in 2022.
