Students and parishioners from St. Michael the Archangel in Leawood, Kansas (near Kansas City) came together to send a truck full of school and cleaning supplies to St. Elizabeth Parish School in Altadena that was damaged in the Eaton Fire. Media are invited today at 3:30 p.m. to capture the arrival of the truck at Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Pasadena (2640 E. Orange Grove Blvd. Pasadena, CA 91107). The supplies will be accepted and distributed by Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic School where many of the displaced St. Elizabeth Parish School students now attend.
Students at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic School – Leawood, KS put this year’s National Catholic Schools Week (January 26 – February 1) theme “Schools: United in Faith and Community” into action by giving back to their fellow Catholic schoolmates affected by the Los Angeles wildfires.
For more than 50 years, Catholic Schools Week has been an annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States which includes an array of special Masses, open houses, and activities for students, families, parishioners, and community members.
