There are 67 parishes in the region, located among 35 cities. It covers Deaneries 17-20 and has 8 High schools, 4 hospitals, and 1 Parochial Mission. The San Pedro Region is the only one that also includes an island parish – St. Catherine of Alexandria, established in 1902 on Santa Catalina Island. The oldest parish in the region is Sts. Peter and Paul in Wilmington, established in 1865. Ethnic Masses are celebrated in Spanish, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Portuguese, Chinese, Croatian and Italian. Eastern Catholic churches include Russian-Greek, Melkite Greek, Armenian and Antiochene Syriac.

Eight high schools are in the region, plus one retreat center and one cemetery. San Pedro area is the site of the first Spanish land grant in California, granted in 1784 by King Carlos II to Juan Jose Dominguez.

Eastern Catholic churches in the region include Ukranian, Byzantine, Maronite and also some ethnic parishes – Croatian, Chinese, Lithuanian, Japanese and Italian.

The Most Reverend Marc V. Trudeau is the regional auxiliary bishop of the San Pedro Pastoral Region. The succession for the region includes Msgr. Bernard Leheny (Episcopal Vicar, 2017-2018), Bishop Oscar Solis (2009-2017), Bishop Alexander Salazar (2004-2009), Msgr. Bernard Leheny (Episcopal Vicar, 2002-2004), Bishop Joseph Sartoris (1994-2002), Msgr. Joseph Sartoris (Episcopal Vicar, 1993-1994), and Bishop Carl Fisher, S.S.J. (1986-1993).

Most Reverend Marc Vincent Trudeau D.D., V.G. 

Auxiliary Bishop

Born May 20, 1957 in Hollywood, California. Bishop Trudeau attended St. John’s Seminary in Camarillo and was ordained a priest June 8, 1991 at St. Vibiana Cathedral. He was elevated to Monsignor on February 26, 2007. He was then appointed Titular Bishop of Tinisa in Proconsulari and Auxiliary Bishop of Los Angeles on April 5, 2018. On June 7, 2018 he was ordained Bishop at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. That same day he was appointed Episcopal Vicar of the San Pedro Pastoral Region.
